We’re thrilled to be offering another Skincare Bootcamp at Project Skin MD this week! We’re here to help you re-adjust your skincare routine post-winter, and whip your skin into shape for spring with private skincare consultations. We have a few spots left, but if you aren’t able to book a spot – fear not – our knowledgeable staff is sharing some of their favourite skincare tips for spring!

During our skincare boot camp consults, my top tips are “the three S’s”:
Switch from heavy moisturizers to lighter ones, to avoid pore congestion.
Step up your sun protection game, SPF 30-50.
Spring clean your face with a SilkPeel® Microdermabrasion, followed by a Clinical Peel.

As the weather changes, so should our skincare! Winter and summer encourage different types of moisture loss. In the winter we use richer-feeling moisturizers with more ceramides and lipids in them. In the summer we should turn to products that contain hyaluronic acid, like SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel or H.A Intensifier, to combat water loss. We may also want to switch up our cleansers since we will be producing more oil. I recommend a BHA cleanser for spring, compared to an AHA cleanser for winter.

My top skin tip for transitioning from winter to spring is to change up your Vitamin C! I use SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic in the colder months when my skin needs the added vitamin E, and I switch to SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF for the warmer months to help keep my pigmentation under control. Paired with a light moisturizer and our weightless SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50, I’m good to go!

As the sun starts to make more of an appearance, it helps to keep your Colorescience Sunforgettable Brush-On Sunscreen handy for mini touch ups and sun protection. It’s also a great time to start incorporating a gentle exfoliator like our SkinCeuticals Micro-Exfoliating scrub to exfoliate congested skin, followed by SkinCeuticals Retexturing Activator.

Every person is so unique, but my top tip? Book a facial! Not only does this kickstart the exfoliation process, it allows one of our medical aestheticians to get up close and personal with your skin, ask you about your current routine, and help you make realistic changes into your daily routine. Tight on time? Start with an express facial!

Our Skincare Bootcamp is taking place from March 19th- 29th. We’re offering complimentary 30-minute skincare consultations with Karen and Bushra, and 15% off all SkinCeuticals products purchased same-day.
